Tech Skills for Teachers: Camp Mad Media
In partnership with the Madison Public Library, Camp MAD Media was a hands-on digital media camp for educators. Educators joined volunteer instructors and community partners for summer sessions to expand their digital literacy and test out new methods for student learning and engagement! Take a look at a few of the topics.
Happy Hour of Code Parties
Code Parties were designed to introduce educators to Hour of Code and similar free and low cost resources, and lead them in an explorations of code, classroom applications, tips and ideas in a social setting with fellow educators and local tech experts.
WeThinkBig launched Hour of Code Preview events for educators throughout greater Dane County in preparation for National Hour of Code and Computer Science Education Week and the new Wisconsin Code Week. In pop-up settings throughout town, educators met tech professionals, fellow educators and explored code, classroom tips and ideas in fun social settings.
Speed Dating at the Tech Bar
Educators looking to meet and ‘test drive’ new educational programs explored new educational apps, hardware and new technologies at 10 staffed, hands-on stations. Educators, entrepreneurs and business leaders met to ask questions, learn about each other, explore new teaching methods and find the best fit for their students’ needs.
